Views: 4273As long ago as 4000 BCE, the Chaldean people of Mesopotamia believed that crystals found in the earth were linked to the planets, and in turn, reflected the vibrations of the cosmos. From earliest times crystals have been thought to have divinatory powers.
By correspondence, each crystal aligns to one of the energies associated to each tarot card, specifically the Major Arcana. Throughout history crystals have been used in fortune-telling for their subtle vibrational nature, thought to be linked to the vibrational powers of the cosmos. As a divinatory tool, they can be laid out in simple spreads of one, two or three crystals, similar to any of the tarot card layouts.
The crystals that correspond to each of the 22 Major Arcana are outlined in the chart on the opposite page. You don’t have to use these specific crystals, though; feel free to create your own tarot crystal set in the following way.
Take 22 crystals of varying kinds that you truly like and place them in your crystal bag and shake gently. Next, take the 22 Major Arcana cards from the pack, shuffle them and pick one at random, then place it face-down on the table. Randomly pick a crystal from the bag and place it on top of the face-down card. Do this until you have one crystal on top of each card.
Turn over the cards one by one and place each crystal above the card. Make a note of each crystal that corresponds to each Major Arcana card. Write them down because it’s easy to forget to begin with. Spend time every day getting to know the meaning behind your crystals when merged with that of the tarot card it represents.
